After the lecture from offset warehouse the ethical company I am thinking about getting my fabrics from them as my theme is nature inspired, it makes sense for me to use ethical fabrics. Could cause a hole in my pocket but should help my collection reach potential.

Virtual wardrobe and stylist

While surfing the web I cam across this site, http://iconiqwardrobe.com/ you can upload photos of everything in your wardrobe and you can either style things up yourself or you can pay for a stylist to plan an outfit for you. I think this is a great idea, and helps you put those old clothings into an outfit. Amazing.

Research

I do love the couture look.

I came across this incredible image, it has a delicate texture but also shows great structure. Looking at these sort of images can really help me think more out of the box designs.

Second Toile Review

I had my second toile review, I did all the alterations from my last review but have realised on my jacket I had made it too big at the front.
Toile reviews are helpful to me as they make sure my collection is coherent and if the outfits do not fit. I think I still need to do some more work to make sure my collection is perfect and also making sure fabrics are right to give a sophisticated look.

Littledown Centre Wedding Show

Got a bit lost going to the Littledown Centre, but its helping me get to know he roads better. The show wasn't very busy again, but I had to give a lot of advice on what would be the best style for the figure which helps me understand more about the figure shapes.

Cumberland Hotel Wedding Show

More wedding shows I do the more confident I feel doing them, though the show to wasn't busy it gave me the chance to network around and get to talk to the other exhibitors about what they do. I also found that people are very helpful when you ask as I had trouble packing up the Cumberland hotel staff were happy to help me.

McQueen and I

This was surprising I found, I haven't really seen a lot of McQueen's catwalks or knew much about his like and this programme was a good insight. I found that his catwalks were amazing in a sick and twisted way but it worked! Plus this sick and twisted look is what got him noticed.
It also shows all the pressures of the fashion world and also how someone can change your perspective on fashion.

But it does show the dangers of becoming big in fashion and shows how Alexander McQueen changes with the added pressure, it also tells of how he loses his temper at a model, its a thought to think about. I wonder if this could happen to me if I become a well established fashion designer. Food for thought there.
It is definitely worth watching.

All go!

It seems life at uni is all go at the moment, have loads of deadlines looming and another review! I really do wonder how I get all the work done. Can be stressful but I guess you have to have fun at the same time!
Can't wait for the weekend for a sleep lol.

My little claim to fame

Well it's not really a claim to fame but at work i got the chance to do some work on a dress for Simon Cowell's exgirlfriend, Jackie St Clair. Its quite exciting to know that something you have worked on is going to be worn by a Celebrity!!

And the dress is absolutely beautiful it is on trend with the nude colour and gives the extra edge with lace over the top.

First Toile Review

I was relatively petrified of this review as its when they tell you that all your hard work is going in the right or wrong direction. Luckily they liked mine, I have to make a few changes. Plus I'm going to change one of my outfits completely as i feel it doesn't fit with the others.
However, good review. Just got to be ready for the next one. Pweh.
